Just on Spec 19th July 2011 Gillian Welsh
Hello all,
Just on Spec are glad finally to be able to bring you some new sounds from Gillian Welsh. Her last album “Soul Journey” released back in 2003 was an absolute favourite of ours and has had heavy rotation of the last 8 years. In the mean time she and her hubby has put out many tracks on compilations and David Rawlings put out a great album last year under the guise of David Rawlings Machine.
Everything about this new album “The Harrow & The Harvest” is beautiful. The cover is made through some nice traditional methods, stamped and printed then hand washed in coffee. See the video
But the music on the album is what could only be described is the sounds of a perfect Sunday morning. Soulful country with some great guitar picking by David and Gillian’s haunting vocals.
