Justin Townes Earle (son of Steve Earle, named after Van Zandt) released his third full length album Harlem River Blues. His previous two releases were favorites of Just on Spec and this takes over where “Midnight in the movies” left off. There is even a little song to a girl from Christchurch who must have mess with his heart while on the road. Hopefully we will see him again soon as he is rumoured to be back around in March. That all depends if he can get himself straight as he has relapsed back into rehab.
Lil’ Band O’ Gold are a bunch of Louisiana session musicians and icons that have formed to play the kinda music they love, Cajun swamp rock and blues. Their new album “The promised land” is a ripper. They are in the country soon and might be worth a look.
